When was the last time your pet joined the family portrait? Do you have a timeless photograph of them on the wall? If not, there is no time like the present! Pets are welcome at Milestone & Memory family sessions and, of course, I welcome individual pet portrait sessions at my home studio as well. Recently, I’ve teamed up with local businesses Pet Planet (Jasper Gates and Tender Tails for themed popup events; you can read more about these stylized portrait events on the Events Around Town page.
Speaking of team ups, I’m proud to say that I have met some amazing men & women in the Edmonton animal rescue community over the years and I’d like to give these amazing souls a quick shout out for all the work they do to help animals in need.
Amanda and Brianna from Paws In Need Animal Rescue Society were the first to welcome me into the community when I approached them about providing studio portraits of their animals in care. We had adopted with Paws In Need a few years prior and eventually became an emergency cat foster (and adopting 2 of those fosters!). Many of the pups and kitties in the slideshow below were from Paws. Paws In Need has now refocused their efforts as a sanctuary rescue, for the most recent information about how you can help please visit their FB page or website.
I am currently working along side Through Your Pets Eyes Animal Rescue and I can’t say enough wonderful things about Melissa’s amazing team. They work day and night to rehabilitate cats and dogs from all kinds of situations, finding them loving forever homes and fostering an amazing community of support and education. The rescue is primarily Edmonton based, though we do have volunteers throughout Alberta. Donations toward vet bills, silent auction items and food/supplies for fosters are always welcome, and greatly appreciated. Please check out their website or Facebook page for more information about adoption, volunteering, events and fundraisers!
